Indian Barbie!

It is a Barbie without a lot of "bling" added... I'll give you an example of what Indian Barbie could look like: [link] .
Clearly a lot of "bling" on that one! But hey, average Indian people don't look like that. And I wanted to make a Barbie doll that showed an average Indian woman.

Seriously, the Indian Barbie I gave you a link to, she has even more "bling" than the blond and blue eyed Barbie has!
Strange... but it's all about culture, I guess.

The clothes for this Barbie is made out of a scarf I bought at my last visit to Egypt.

Btw, fun fact: in the Arabic countries it actually is a problem that people are smuggling the blonde and blue eyed Barbie. Fulla, the hijab Barbie the Arabic countries have made, is clearly not doing her business that well when blonde and blue eyed Barbie is smuggled across the border, like a trojan horse!
Oh well...

The dirty buisness is still going on, even though the Arabic countries are trying to stop it, hehe. To prevent the smuggling of Barbie, the Arabic countries have made an alternative: Flora. Flora is blonde and blue eyed and looks exactly like Barbie. But - she has a hijab.

I don't know if Flora has had a bigger success more than Fulla, maybe she hasn't. Barbie have a lot of accessories Flora surely would like to have, and when it is that way, Barbie is still in the dirty buisness.
(Hehe, to me it's kinda funny to think about the illegal smuggling when it's about Barbie. She... just doesn't have that image. The image of illegal buisness. )

And to those of you who doesn't know why I take pictures of my Barbie doll... well, it's because I have a photography project about adding personality to Barbie.
You know, something else than coctail dresses and high heel shoes.
